Two feather shields, Mexica (Aztec), c. 1520 CE, wood, cane, fleece, raw skin, feathers (see below), 75.5 and 71 cms. diameter, Württembergisches Landesmuseum, Stuttgart, Germany.

The shields bear feathers from the squirrel cuckoo, black-headed trogon, probably black-throated tanager, azure cotinga, ridgeway cotinga, lovely cotinga, flame tangar.
