Find out moreWhat did Aztec schools look like inside?? Asked by Sandy Lane Primary School. Chosen and answered by Professor Elizabeth Graham
Rather than desks, boys probably sat on cushions and mats with harder surfaces on which to write. For physical activities, they would have gone outside, as in modern schools. They had to learn some of the sciences, such as astronomy, so probably went to observatories. Teachers had various illustrations and objects with which to teach. Brushes and paints would have been used like pen and ink. They may have learned some carving, too, in the older age groups.
