Find out moreWhy did they put blank pages at the end of the Codex [Cospi]?? Asked by Bridgewater Primary School. Chosen and answered by Professor Davide Domenici
Apparently the manufacture of the codex, which involved the preparation of the skin strip and its covering with gypsum, was made by artisans who were not the same artists that were going to paint it. For this reason, the number of white pages ready to be painted not always corresponded to the content that the artist later painted on them. This is why some pages were left blank.
