Clay sculpture

Cassandra Serrano writes: ‘I was wondering if you could help me on some information regarding an Aztec clay sculpture my husband was given by his grandfather who is from Mexico. It is believed to be original and I was trying to contact anyone who would give me any information on this piece as I would like to have it appraised. It is very old and was found in Mexico. It has been passed down from my husband’s family to him. And I was hoping I could get information about it. Anything will help.’

So strange. I don’t know how, but I think immediately to Hopi. But I think that he’s more probably a team captain of tlachtli (pelota), for his tipical loincloth. Look at this “similar” figure: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ca/Maya_Vase_Ballplayer.png
